Prandelli Makes It Clear That Eboue Will Not Play

Cesare Prandelli, the newly appointed manager of Galatasaray SK, has made it clear that Emmanuel Eboue is not going to play any part for the club during the upcoming season. He has not been included in the squad that is going to go to Austria for the pre-season.

Apart from Eboue, a few other seasoned campaigners of Galatasaray have also been overlooked for the pre season and some of them are actually upset about it.

Sabri Sarioglu, the playmaker who’s been playing for the Lions for over a decade and has skippered them as well, even took the matter in the media yesterday saying that he is willing to make an away move after this decision of the new management.

As far as Eboue is concerned, he is also most likely to leave Galatasaray this summer after being sidelined. England might be his next destination as a couple of clubs from there are believed to be looking to secure the services of the Ivorian defender.

Eboue had made his way to Galatasaray from the Emirates Stadium in 2011 and in the first couple of years that he spent there, he got a lot of playing time as he was a certainty in the back line of the Lions, but, after the departure of Fatih Terim last summer, he started getting ignored. Roberto Mancini didn’t seem to trust his ability that much.

In the previous season, the Ivory Coast International just got to feature in 18 matches.

Eboue, who prefers playing at the right back position generally, has played more than 100 matches for Galatasaray till now in which he has found the net 5 times, while, has set up the goals for his teammates 12 times. That’s not a bad record for a defender.
