EBOUE WANTS MATCH

The defender of Galatasaray, Emmanuel Eboue, has said that he wants to be included in the starting line up for the Champions League match against Manchester United which is going to be played on 19th of September at Old Trafford.

Eboue has quite a lot of experience of playing in English conditions. He served Arsenal for six year between 2005 and 2011, playing alongside both Patrick Vieira and Theo Walcott.

The Ivorian defender thinks that his experience would come in handy in the match against United. As per Eboue, many players in the Galatasaray squad haven’t played in England before and they are quite unfamiliar with the English conditions. So, it would be good for the team if an experienced player like him is included in the first XI.

Eboue had joined Galatasaray last summer after leaving Arsenal. Eboue’s tenure at Arsenal was quite successful. He produced some amazing performances for the Gunners. After Eboue’s brilliant performance in a match against Aston Villa in April 2006, Arsene Wenger had said that Eboue reminded him of the former Brazilian winger Garrincha which was a huge complement for Eboue.

The Ivorian defender had to struggle with ankle injuries in the latter half of the 2006-07 season. In May 2007, his contract was extended by Arsene Wenger and he proved the manager right by finding the net for the first time in the Premier League against Bolton Wanderers. Eboue kept on doing well in the next two seasons, but, in the 2010-11 season, his performance deteriorated and he struggled throughout that season. He was sold to Galatasaray in August last year.

Eboue said that he is delighted to be back in England again. It’s a wonderful place to play football. He has spent so much time playing football in England and he missed the excitement of the Premier League in the last season. The match against United is going to be a great learning curve for the Galatasaray boys and hopefully, the team would do well in that match.

EBOUE SLAMS RVP

The Galatasaray defender, Emmanuel Eboue, has called the former Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie a “Dutch Donkey” in one of his tweets.

In that tweet, he wrote that he has no respect for Robin Van Persie in his heart. Van Persie has done wrong by leaving Arsenal. As per Eboue, Van Persie has disturbed the balance of the Arsenal team by leaving the club all of a sudden. He shouldn’t have done that. By doing this, he has proved what kind of individual he is.

Eboue himself was an Arsenal player and he played alongside Van Persie for quite some time. He played for Arsenal till the end of the 2010-11 season. But, in the last season, he was bought by Galatasaray. The Turkish club had to pay 3.5 million Euros for buying the Ivorian defender. Eboue joined Galatasaray on a contract of four years.

The Arsenal fans are disappointed by Van Persie’s sudden exit from the club. Van Persie was the best player of Arsenal in the last season. He had scored more than 40 goals in the last season. Many players of Arsenal have clearly admitted that it would not be easy for the club to win the matches without the Dutch striker. The manager of the club, Arsene Wenger, also has the same opinion. But, Eboue has a different thought.

According to him, Van Persie can’t give consistent performances and he would never be able to repeat the stuff of the previous season in his career. He is not one of the fittest blokes around and he tends to get injured more often than not. So, he would not have made a lot of difference for Arsenal in this season. Arsenal has got many talented players and the team would not miss Persie much in the upcoming season.

EBOUE WANTS DROGBA AT GALA

Galatasaray defender Emmanuel Eboue has said that he is hoping that fellow Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba will join him at the Turkish club.

Didier Drogba is out of contract at the end of the season. He wants two year deal from Chelsea, who are preferred to offer him only a one-year deal. The 34-year-old striker will be out of contract in a matter of few weeks, but he has already helped Chelsea win their first Champions League crown. In the past, he has been linked with a move to China where his former Chelsea team mate Nicolas Anelka waits.

However, Emmanuel Eboue has said that he is extremely confident that Didier Drogba will make the move to Turkish football at the end of the season. Eboue has been a huge hit at Galatasaray after his move from Arsenal in the summer. He has helped the club win the Turkish league by some distance this season. Yet, it remains to be seen if Didier Drogba will want to move to Turkish football due to the fact that still there are a number of big clubs interested in him. Only a few weeks ago, it emerged that Barcelona are interested in signing the Ivory Coast international.

“I’m very happy here. I would like another African player to join us. I’ve told Drogba a lot about life here, but I don’t know what will happen in the future. Taking the Uefa Cup in 2000 by beating Arsenal shows how big of a club Galatasaray are. I searched the Internet, read the newspapers, and I decided to come here. Our direction has been very important to me since the first day,” Eboue told Galatasaray TV. Eboue also said that he wants Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou, who is also out of contract, to come to Galatasaray.

RACISTS ABUSE EBOUE

Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has become the target of racial abuse while playing for his club Galatasaray. It is thought that fans of Besiktas racially abused it Emmanuel Eboue while their team was playing against Galatasaray.

Adding further evidence to the situation, the video has been released that clearly shows Emmanuel Eboue being pelted with various missiles including objects like a plastic water bottle and a lighter. There has been no comments from the Turkish football Federation about this incident. NTV said in their sure that there was clearly racially abuse in the frustration vented against Emmanuel Eboue.

It is thought that Besiktas fans turned ugly against Emmanuel Eboue after the Ivory Coast defender feigned injury in order to waste time. “The treatment Emmanuel Eboue was given by Besiktas fans on Sunday has nothing to do with racism. Similar treatment was given to a Turkish player during the game as well, the sole motivation for the act was Eboue’s theatrics aimed at deceiving the referee,” Besiktas spokesman Mete Duren said. If found guilty, Besiktas could face a fine from the Turkish football Federation. This is clearly an act of failing to control the supporters and it is very likely that Besiktas would be receiving a fine in the future.

This is the first game since the decision against bringing away fans to the grounds was taken recently. Matches between the Turkey’s top sides like Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besikitas, and Trabzonspor will not be featuring away fans. There has also been a number of anti-hooliganism laws introduced in recent times in Turkey, but it seems that they have failed to control some aspects of racism in Turkey. Emmanuel Eboue, though, has been known for feigning injury a lot during his Arsenal days itself, and it may not be surprising to know that his abuse was caused as a result of it.
