EXPERIENCE COUNTS

Many people reckon that the Ivory Coast national football team hasn’t got enough experience to be able to make it to the latter stages of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014, but, Sabri Lamouchi, the man in charge of the Elephants squad, has different opinion. He has got a lot of faith in the group that he has got and he believes that his boys will prove those people wrong who doubt their ability.

Ivory Coast’s world cup campaign will start on 14th of June when they will take on Japan. Their next couple of matches will be against Colombia and Greece on 19th and 24th of the same month.

Ivory Coast has never been a weak side. They have always been blessed with 4-5 immensely talented players, but, they have hardly performed well in any multi team tournament. They just don’t click as a unit that often and that’s really a shame because they deserve better results than what they have been getting at the international level.

However, according to Lamouchi, his team has the ability to perform better than the expectations in the World Cup Finals, but, for that, he will need the blessings of the fans.

The Elephants had got their ticket to Brazil after a lot of struggle and being unsatisfied with the performance of the team in the qualifying matches, many fans were demanding Lamouchi to be sacked, but, that didn’t eventually happen as the football association of the country reckoned that bringing changes in the management with World Cup so close was not the right thing to do.
But, if the Frenchman fails to guide the team to some victories in Brazil, he would surely be axed.

Lamouchi had been given the charge of the Ivory Coast team in 2012.
