Eboue banned from football

Former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has been banned from all football-related activities by the FIFA after having refused to pay his agent.

The player was given the ban on 31 March 2016 and has since then not given any sign of life. Former Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce believes that the ban will end the player’s career.

Once they were aware of the FIFA ban, Sunderland terminated the player’s contract as he was not going to be available for selection for one whole year. Sam Allardyce said that he had given two weeks to Eboue to sort out his problems, but the player did not do anything. He stated that the player never got back to him and just disappeared.

Sam Allardyce said that at that time he had high expectations on the player especially when the club was in the midst of a relegation battle. He added that Sunderland made great effort in order to sign the player, but it is unfortunate that Emmanuel Eboue did not let them know about his issues with the agent. He believed that the club would have helped him manage this issue but instead he preferred to hide his problems.

Sam Allardyce said that it was unfortunate for a player of his quality to arrive at this situation. He said that only the player knows what had happened and why he refused to pay the agent. As far as the club is concerned, he said that they were prepared to help the player as they needed Emmanuel Eboue at that time. Indeed Eboue is an experienced international player that has played with the best teams in the world. He is best known for his time at Arsenal where he has managed to make 214 appearances and scored ten goals in the process.
